Welcome to the herd!
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. Hebrews 10:24-25

Knowing God
Good morning Zebras,
Jill
Today’s post is from the opening chapter of Tozer’s classic
The Pursuit of God.
“Every age has its own characteristics. Right now we are in
an age of religious complexity. The simplicity which is in Christ is rarely
found among us. In its stead are programs, methods, organizations and a world
of nervous activities which occupy time and attention but can never satisfy the
longing of the heart. The shallowness of our inner experience, the hollowness
of our worship and that servile imitation of the world which marks our
promotional methods all testify that we, in this day, know God only imperfectly,
and the peace of God scarcely at all.”
Oh Dear Heavenly Father, forgive us that we are so busy that
we never have time to sit at Your feet, to sit and learn and soak up the essence
of our God. Forgive us that working for
You has become more important than knowing who You are. Lord, please, place within the hearts of Your
people the desire and longing to know You more and then satisfy that desire by
showing us more of Yourself. Amen
Love,Jill
