Welcome to the herd!
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. Hebrews 10:24-25

Good morning Zebras,
If you need more encouragement about the situation in North
Korea, I recommend clicking on the link below and reading Oswald Chamber’s because God has told me
write about something else.
In hindsight, I guess it is rather funny that I would start
my “speaking career” with Moses’s last address.
(Dt. 30:11-20) I was so excited.
I rented a “Moses” costume and memorized the whole passage. I was so sure if people knew what the choice
was-follow God with your whole heart or die-they would choose life. I was
wrong.
Joshua was more realistic.
After his famous declaration “As for me and my house we
will follow the Lord” he told the Israelites: “You are not able to serve the Lord, for he is a holy God. He is a
jealous God; he will not forgive your transgressions or your sins.” But of course, they insisted they could and they
became witnesses against themselves by making a promise they could not keep, a
promise to serve God and obey Him.
None of us can do that, none of us can live a life that
pleases God without the power of the Spirit because the life that pleases God,
is a life like Jesus’s, a life that does not care about itself.
Luke 14:26 “If anyone comes to me and does not hate his
father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters—yes, even
his own life—he cannot be my disciple.”
Every day you have to choose who you are going to serve, yourself
and your own concerns or God, the two cannot coexist because Jesus said everyone
can only have one master.
Matthew 6:24 “No one can serve two masters. Either he will
hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise
the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.
You have to choose, the lukewarm sit the fence.
Joshua 24:15 “But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves
this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond
the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as
for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”
If dying to self seems undesirable to you, or impossible, be
honest, don’t be an Israelite and become a witness against yourself making
promises you can’t keep. Or worse a Pharisee that only looks good on the
outside but on the inside, is full of hypocrisy and wickedness.
Matthew 23:27–28 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and
Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful
on the outside but on the inside are full of dead men’s bones and everything
unclean. In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but
on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness.”
Instead acknowledge to God the truth He already knows and
beg Him to change you.
Love,
Jill
