Welcome to the herd!
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. Hebrews 10:24-25

Good morning
Zebras,
I love you.
I got locked
out of yoga this morning, but I wasn’t surprised. I was late and I knew the teacher was going
to be faithful to her guidelines and lock the door when class began. I drove over there anyway, hoping that I
would make it but I didn’t.
God is
faithful. He has done what He promised
to do, He destroyed the nation of Israel because their hearts turned away and
worshipped other gods.
Deuteronomy
30:15–18 See, I set before you today life and prosperity, death and
destruction. For I command you today to
love the Lord your God, to walk in
his ways, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and
increase, and the Lord your God
will bless you in the land you are entering to possess. But if your heart turns
away and you are not obedient, and if you are drawn away to bow down to other
gods and worship them, I declare to you this day that you will certainly be
destroyed. You will not live long in the land you are crossing the Jordan to
enter and possess.
And He is going
to be faithful to do what He has promised to do, which is to shut the door of
Heaven in the face of those who are not ready.
Matthew 25:1–13
“At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their
lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish and five
were wise. The foolish ones took their
lamps but did not take any oil with them. The wise, however, took oil in jars
along with their lamps. The bridegroom
was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep. “At midnight the cry rang out: ‘Here’s the
bridegroom! Come out to meet him!’ “Then
all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps. The foolish ones said to the wise, ‘Give us
some of your oil; our lamps are going out.’ “‘No,’ they replied, ‘there may not
be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some
for yourselves.’ “But while they were on
their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready
went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut. “Later the others also came. ‘Sir! Sir!’ they
said. ‘Open the door for us!’ “But he
replied, ‘I tell you the truth, I don’t know you.’ “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know
the day or the hour.
Theologians say
the oil represents the Spirit of God which means the kingdom of Heaven’s door
is going to be shut on those who do not have Him.
Romans 8:9–11 You,
however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the
Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ,
he does not belong to Christ. But if Christ is in you, your body is dead
because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness. And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from
the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give
life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you.
Acting like it
isn’t true doesn’t change the facts. And
counting on God to change His mind is just dangerous.
Love,
Jill
