Good morning Zebras,
I am getting ready to go to camp next week where I will be teaching the high school girls so that is where my energy is focused but I didn't want to you to think I have forgotten about you so I decided just to share with you what I will be sharing with the girls.
The series I will be teaching is called "Men and Women of God."
The first lesson is about, idols, role models, examples and heroes with the following goals: to see the value of studying the lives of men and women of God, to make students want to learn more about the people whose lives God approved and to evaluate their heroes by God's standards with the overall aim of inspiring students to approach Bible study with enthusiasm.
In 1992, someone calculated how a typical lifespan of 70 years is spent. Here is the estimate:
Sleep - 23 years
Work - 16 years
Television - 8 years
Eating - 6 years
Travel - 6 years
Leisure - 4.5 years
Illness - 4 years
Dressing - 2 years
Religion - 0.5 years
And this was before Facebook, Twitter and "texting."
So how exciting is Bible study and trying to live a life pleasing to God compared to all the world has to offer?
The honest answer is VERY, I just hope I can get them to see it.

Why Zebras?
In the summer of 2008 I was looking at a herd of zebras in a wild animal park and commented to my son that I didn’t understand why the lions didn’t just eat the zebras because their markings make them so obvious. He told me that the opposite was actually true. God has marked zebras so when they hang together in a herd, their stripes create the illusion they are one large animal and therefore too big to attack. It is the lone zebra that is usually eaten. The same is true of Christians; we must hang together and encourage each other to fight off the lions. The lone Christian is easy prey.

Therefore:
Zebras was started to encourage women who desire to follow the Lord Jesus Christ, who want their lives to be transformed to honor God and who are willing to be “zebras” in a world of “horses”. Zebras exists to reassure you that you are not alone and that God has called you to be peculiar. As a peculiar person you should look different than the world

Vision
The vision of Zebras is to unite all God's people in a single goal; to love, honor and serve Jesus Christ. To give them a sense of being part of something bigger than themselves and the strength and support to grow in their faith.
Mission
To fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. Ecclesiastes 12:13
