Welcome to the herd!
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. Hebrews 10:24-25

Draw Your Sword!
Ephesians 6:10-17
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God…the belt of truth…the breastplate of righteousness…the gospel of peace…the shield of faith…the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
Good morning Zebras,
It is another one of those mornings when I am having trouble writing.
I never know what the cause is and I am always willing not to write, but I refuse to give in if it is only Satan trying to trip me up.
So I am going to give it one more try.
Anyone who has seen Raiders of the Lost Ark probably remembers the scene where Indy is facing a sword wielding bad guy and rather than get into a long fight, he just takes out his gun and shoots him.
Rumor has it that Harrison Ford wasn’t feeling well that day and he didn’t have the strength for a fight scene so he asked Spielberg if he could just shoot him instead.
It is a great scene which imbedded in our mind forever that swords are far inferior to guns when it comes to warfare, which is probably true when you are fighting men, but it is absolutely not true in the spiritual arena.
In a spiritual battle, the sword is an excellent weapon.
The Bible says that the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword.
But we don’t take it out enough; sometimes we even forget we have it.
Today, if you are having a day where it feels like the enemy is winning, stop, find your sword, and kill him!
Love,
Jill
