Good morning ladies,
Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified…for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you not forsake you. (Deuteronomy 31:6-9)
Don’t you love those verses? I do!
Moses was getting ready to die. He was giving the leadership of the Israelites over to Joshua who was going to take them into the Promised Land, to the land of giants and scary things, to the land of the unknown.
And God commanded them not to be afraid or discouraged.
Why would God have Moses tell them this?
Because He knew they were afraid.
It is natural to be afraid when we face the unknown. But God tells us not to worry. He has it under control. He is with us. We can be brave, not because we are strong, but because He is.
Sometimes I think I would like to know the future. Other times I think if I knew the future, I would never get out of bed. But I always know God’s got it covered, He knows the future and He has promised to walk with me every step of the way.
Be brave little Zebras, God is on OUR side.

Why Zebras?
In the summer of 2008 I was looking at a herd of zebras in a wild animal park and commented to my son that I didn’t understand why the lions didn’t just eat the zebras because their markings make them so obvious. He told me that the opposite was actually true. God has marked zebras so when they hang together in a herd, their stripes create the illusion they are one large animal and therefore too big to attack. It is the lone zebra that is usually eaten. The same is true of Christians; we must hang together and encourage each other to fight off the lions. The lone Christian is easy prey.

Therefore:
Zebras was started to encourage women who desire to follow the Lord Jesus Christ, who want their lives to be transformed to honor God and who are willing to be “zebras” in a world of “horses”. Zebras exists to reassure you that you are not alone and that God has called you to be peculiar. As a peculiar person you should look different than the world

The vision of Zebras is to unite all God's people in a single goal; to love, honor and serve Jesus Christ. To give them a sense of being part of something bigger than themselves and the strength and support to grow in their faith.
